Open Media player and press the alt key. Right arrow to tools and up arrow
to options. Press enter.
Shift tab once and you will be on the player tab control, right arrow once
to rip music. Tab 3 times and use the up and down arrow to set the rip
format to MP3. Tab 2 more times to the rip CD when inserted check
box. If you want your PC to automatically rip the music from any CD you
insert then check this box. I generally use this option when I have a lot
of CDs from which I want to take music. Tab 2 more times and check the
eject CD option. This means that as soon as the rip has finished your PC
will alert you by ejecting the CD. Tab 1 time to set the quality of the
rip. You should use the up and down arrows to set this, but I recommend
either option 2 or 3. You can check how much memory each track will use
approximately under each setting by pressing tab 1 time. You should
shift tab back to the setting option and move this until you have a size
setting that you are happy with. Remember that the bigger the file, the
better the quality of the sound. Once you have done this you should press
tab until you get to apply and press enter, then shift tab back to ok and
press enter again. Now shut down Windows Media player.

Insert the disk that you want to rip. You should be provided with a list of
options about what the PC can do with the disk. One of the options is rip
music using Windows Media player, press enter on this option and your PC
will do the rest. When the rip is complete the PC will eject the disk,
simply insert another and you will be given the same options. Your music
files will automatically be stored in My Documents, inside you're my Music
folder.

Hope this helps, and by the way it is really simple to set up, then you
never really have to do it again.

Michael

I did this many times with the demo version of realplayer, ripping music cds

to mp3. I find it easier than media player.

Best,

Raj

I need to rip the files from some cd's and change them to .mp3 files to
put on my BookSense.
I've heard you can do this with media player, but I can't figure it out.
If some one could give me some instructions, or even better, if you know
of a straight-forward program that will rip all files from cd's to mp3
files that would be even better.
Thanks,
Jeff Weiss
