These behaviors happen whenever I try to add a hot-spot or access the list of hot-spots that already exist.

I'm not offended, if you don't understand, you don't understand, I'll try again.

When I press

control-alt-p to add a hot-spot

I see two places where I can add a hotspot, global or sonarpdr.

I am working in the sfz vst plug-in and in some ways, hopspot is aware of this because it creates a section for it, but doesn't tell me that it's doing so

So I pick sonarpdr and logic tells me the hotspot
should go in the sonarpdr section.

It only gives me global or sonarpdr but if you look in the hotspots.ini,
you will see another section that says sfz which got created as another heading for hotspots.

That where the spots end up if you pick sonarpdr but you don't know that that is where they're going.

The interesting thing is that when I use alt-control-shift p, I can see this sfz section, but this is the message I get when I try and trigger one of these spots from that dialogue.

---------------------------
Unable to Route Pointer
---------------------------
Unable to route pointer because the active window does not match the saved window SFZ. Do you want to search for the SFZ window, and route the mouse to the load alternative hotspot if found? (NOTE: This proceedure may take several seconds.)
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------

If I choose yes, it eventually tells me it can't find the hotspot.

But guess what?

I never got the sfz option in the add hotspot dialoge the control-alt-p dialoge to add hotspots.

It only gave me global and sonarpdr

Now, it gets even more confusing because the spots in the sonarpdr section work after a fashion, but not completely.

If I do the alt-shift-l for instances to load an sfz file, the mouse will be routed, but the hot-key to trigger a click, a left click which I've defined won't happen.

So, there are other flukes going on with this hotspot script, but I don't want to confuse you maybe dealing with one problem at a time will help you isolate something which will give you a clue to what's going on.

Suffice it to say that I can not add hotspots and make them work under these conditions.

If I completely delete the hotspots I've created, and start over, I get the same thing, but I don't even have the original section of spots to trigger which sort of works, the sonarpdr ones.

These were imported
spots.

I hope this is better.

Thanks.

Chris,

I understand what the symptoms are, but I'm not understanding what you're doing to make those symptoms occur. I believe we've gone through this in the past. You're great at describing what happens in great detail. Kudos to you for that. But I need you to be better at describing what you did to get to that point. That's not a personal attack; it's just the details I need. We can discuss all day about what happened, but until I know what you did to make it happen, it's all guesswork.

So, what are the exact, keystroke by keystroke steps you're taking to exhibit the behavior?

I wasn't able to deliver an error report because I wasn't given the option.

I detailed it pretty thoroughly when I wrote to the list but I'll tell
you again here as best I can remember and also what I just did and the
errors I got.

Part of the problem is that it seems hotspot is getting confused as to
which place to put the spots in.

The spots I have defined and which I imported from a previous install
are working fine.

But when I try and create new hotspots, they don't match the window name
and I get an error saying the saved window name doesn't match the active
window name do I want to search for the spot.

So I can't add spots to my existing window name section or
use any new spots it wants to add to the sfz section.

I have two sections in this file
[SONARPDR]
and
[SFZ]

.

I'll send you the hotspot.

I'm going to submit this publically too.

Thanks.

Chris,

Are you getting actual script errors? If so, I've not seen any reports
come through for HotSpot.

Some time ago, I had errors with hotspot and sfz using sonar 6.

I posted to the list including the actual hotspot file and detailed the
problem and what was happening.

There has been silence on this problem, so I am asking Aaron and gwmicro
if this has been addressed, or not and any thoughts or further
information required etc?

Please respond.

Thank you.
