Hi this is a good solution but it doesn't always work. this morning outlook
crashed I lost speech and nothing I loaded wanted to talk. I ended the
outlook process from task manager and everything came up talking.

Hi. This can be difficult but it is usually easy to work through. In these

situations starting another screen reader gives you speech so you can find
the offending program. You don't have to spend another dime either. You
can put the demo of JFW on your system. You can put a copy of the free NVDA

screen reader on your system. You could even use narrator to help you.
This doesn't happen to me very often but when it does I start NVDA. Once I
end Explorer or Outlook Express or some other non-responsive program WE
comes back alive. I use NVDA's quit hotkey to go back to one speech source
and I'm back on my way without rebooting or randumly shutting down programs
or killing and restarting WE. In the past year I believe I've had to push
the power button to restart one time. It reallyh is easy to have speech to
help us out of situations where it seems that WE is locked up. It's often
some other program which may very well be from MicroSoft.
