its not a graphic. it is in the mouse pointer description dictionary and
when i had mouse descriptions turned on which is the factory default it was
saying write message in almost all of my apps until i turned the
descriptions off in the mouse pull down menu.

The "write message" is a graphic.
I used the mouse keys to search for and focus on the graphic. I then opened
the graphic dictionary and selected to silence the graphic and then saved
the set file and all graphic dictionaries.
This seems to have worked for me.
