Hi David, I have to do web design and/or accessibility testing as part of my job at times. you can write me at work tomorrow if you wish at:
[email protected] I don't monitor this account during the day. I wanted to mention that good usability is not just avoiding problem issues like captcha and unlabeled graphics. it's also about making parts of your web page easily and quickly reachable. this often comes down to use of the headings tag. sites which use headings to help organize their data, I find, are much more usable than those which have one long unending stream from top to bottom. You can easily demonstrate this by showing them the WE "h" navigation command, and how quickly it allows you to reach the next part of a web page. the use of headings is my #1 usability tip to those who are interested in the subject. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: David Thomas [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 05, 2009 10:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Web Site Accessibility Good evening! On Wednesday evening I will be doing a Window-Eyes demonstration to a class on web site usability at the University of Denver (where I work). If you have suggestions for examples of very poor accessibility and/or really high accessibility on web sites please e-mail me with them. Anything you can think of, from inaccessible auditory captias to poorly-labeled graphics, to broken links are welcome Thank you in advance for sharing your expertise with me.
