Hi, all. I finally uninstalled the Second Glass script today. Every now
and then it would ding and ding and ding, unless I switched to another
program, and then it would be fine. Today I was listening to CD's I'd
ripped, and when it switched to another CD and song, the script started
dinging. I at first thought, "Oh, okay, there's a momentary hour glass."
But after 15 seconds or so, it was still dinging. I switched to other
screens, which has stopped the dinging in the past, but it just kept right
on dinging. The computer was working at its normal speed, and everything
seemed fine, except the dinging, indicating a supposed hour glass. So I
stopped the script and uninstalled it, figuring that even if there was an
hour glass, if the computer still worked at its normal speed, why would I
want continuous dinging?
Is there something I've missed in my understanding of the script? Can hour
glasses last for minutes at a time, while the computer goes on working
perfectly? Or did my particular script get stuck in some kind of dinging
loop? <grin>
