Everyone, I have had similar issues. My resolution is the kill wineyes link I created on my desktop with a hotkey. In my case, I set ctrl-alt-l to kill window-eyes. So, when I get the no speech problem, I utilize the ctrl-alt-l, wait a few seconds then use the ctrl-alt-k key to start WE again. If anyone wants, they can contact me off-line or look in the message log. I took that tip from someone on the list. Warm Regards.. Joe Lanier

I also notice loss of speech when I'm just alt-tabbing some times from one program to another. Window-Eyes will stop talking for a few minutes, and at least once a day, it will totally stop talking, and I can't get speech back, and I have to either reboot the computer, or load another screen reader, which I have done quite freequently. Sometimes Window-Eyes will stop talking in a program, such as Eudora. I'm always loving Window-Eyes. <smile> Thanks much. I can readily duplicate this as well. Amanda lee If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
