I can recommend SUN Virtual Box, freeware and to download under:
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
It is quite accessible and I use it to run XP and Linux VM#'s.

Subject: Virtual Machine with WE

Every now and then, you are told to download, and try out, a given software.
You so do, only to find out, it didn't do exactly what you wanted. Then you
uninstall the so
ftware, only to realize, it leaves a ton of traces in your registry etc
(sometimes, not even registry cleaners are able to fully erase what the
software did). Normally, not a big problem, but after a while, you end up
with a rather cluttered PC. And, we still haven't talked about the chances
of getting spyware, adaware etc; even with the best intentions on the
downloads.

OK, on one place at the net, they did suggest, that you run a Virtual
Machine, in which you would do the 'testing' of the software. This means,
you would download, install, test and play, in the VM; leaving your physical
drive untouched. Then, if you want the software, or whatever you have done
in the VM, you could go agead and do a 'real installation' on your physical
drive. Yes, I do follow the idea, and see the point in doing this. Then,
only one big thing is left:

Is there any VM software out there, that is easy to download, install and
operate, with WE7? Anyone have a good one, that they have been using, maybe
some set file is needed, but best if the software works straight out of the
box. I do realize, that some mousing might be needed, but at least
accessible VM software is wanted. Good thing, if it is in a price range,
that won't rip your bank account totally (freeware is of course always
welcome :)

Thanks for all feedvback, and sorry if this got a bit technical for some on
the list!
