Were these systems having problems brand new with Win 7, or upgraded from Vista?

WE will begin its openning words then the following error pops up. It locks the system requiring a hard reboot to solve. The error message is as follows: External Control: wineyes.exe-application error The instructions at 0x7484c5c0 referenced memory at 0x0000098. The memory could not be read.
