The female voice used is the AT&T Crystal voice. To use it you would
need to purchase it. I believe that www.nextup.com sells it.

synthesizers in the Select Synthesizer dialog, I can only find three
that work on my system, DEC Talk 32 WinEyes, Eloquence and SAPI, and of
the dozens of installed engines for each, none come close to the
pleasant quality of the female voice in the hourly chime script.
I use that voice for comparison as each of us hears things differently,
and what some may consider pleasant, others may not.
