I too was experiencing WE crashes with Windows 7 64 bit. The one thing that I discovered was that the latest NVIDIA drivers posted both on the HP web site as well as on the NVIDIA web site seems to be the problem. This also, in my case, included the graphics drive from Windows update. When I went back to an older version of the driver WE no longer crashes. The only thing causing me problems now is a Desktop Heap Allocation failure that happens at boot up. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does none of the icons on the desktop work and you can not expand any menues in the start menu. For my NVIDIA geforce 6150 I am using the 190.062 driver.
