Hi Jeff

I had the appropriate settings, but turns out I was not connecting (not sure
the right word) W-E to Word. I have W-E running in my system tray and was not
using cntrl\ to access it Once I did this, I was able to apply the settings to
Word.. Thanks for your e-jmail and thanks to Mike at GW.

  On the screen menu,

  punctuation,

do you have punctuation set to

  on

  or

  read-to-end off?

It sounds like it is set to read-to-end off, which will silence punctuation
when using control-shift-r for reading.

As I get to know my laptop pc better, I'm finding when I type %, ., etc, they
are not read. I have punctuation set to on for text, math and misc. The
keyboard is set to read keys as I type for now.

  For example

  1. The score was 100%.

Using Cntrl-shift-R will not read the % or the . after the number 1.

Using Cntrl-right arrow reading word by word will read the symbols.

Moving the right arrow letter by letter reads the symbols.

If I down arrow to the line, it reads the line, but not the symbols.

This happens with an imported Word 2003 document as well as a new document in
Word

  07.

Dell notebook vista-64 Word 2007 using standard W-E keyboard, not the laptop
keyboard.

What settings do I need to adjust on the laptop to get symbols to read.

  Thanks

  Brenda
