I'll have to look around and see if I can find something. You may be correct
that there is some redundancy that WE is smart enough to ignore. However, if it
is indeed the case that WE is omitting links because of redundancy, I would
still rather have the true number of links and headings displayed rather than
trusting to Window Eyes to decide how many it thinks I should see.

I cannot prove it, not being an expert on web design, but I suspect the reason
for the disparity in the number of links and headings is due to something else.

Thing is, I can't find anything I can't do at bookshare with the 34-36 links
and 9-10 headings. I wonder if there is some redundancy at bookshare that WE
is smart enough to ignore? If you want to give me an example of something
you can not get, I'll be happy to see how it goes for me.

  Sincerely,

Well, when I go to Bookshare with IE7 and Window Eyes 7.1, I get 87 links and
18 headings. So clearly, there is something substantially wrong somewhere with
WE and IE8, but it is not limited to IE8.

Just went to bookshare with Firefox and WE 7.11 and had no trouble locating
search functions. They were not labeled with the word find but rather with
the word search

IE 8 with WE 7.11 also had no issues with regards to searching for books.

I did notice with Firefox WE reported 36 links and 10 headings where IE
reported 34 links and 9 headings.

    Merry Christmas To All!

I don't know what the problem is, but if you listen to the number of links
WE says you get with IE8 versus the number you get in IE7, it appears that more
than half the links on Bookshare pages are somehow missing.

And yes, I am also not interested in getting into a debate about screen
readers; but this problem does not seem to be occurring with JAWS.

I have not been on bookshare for a while but using ie8 latest update and
we 7.11 once I logged on from the home page we couldn't locate the find books
link.

I opened the list view with insert tab as well as simply arrowing down to
the link location. WE reads the label as text but not as a link and cannot
activate it.

Is this a bookshare error or a we error.

I don't want to start an argument or debate about screen readers but jaws
reads and activates this as a link.

Does anyone else have this experience?

      John
