i don't know but version 2 had a graphic on the right side of the screen you
had to click on with the mouse. then you could uncheck the columns you don't
want to show. but i never found that graphic.

Interesting, I get the read and unread information read to me, as a matter
of fact, the thing keeping me from moving to Thunderbird is that I haven't
been able to figure out how to git rid of some of the information I don't
want read. I really wish it would only read the unread status and not the
read status, and I really, truly wish I could get it to stop reading all
of the recipients of a message. I know the message was sent to me, so why
do I want that read, and I really don't care how many other people it was
sent to,, if I want that information I can always read the information in
the header of the message itself. I am finding getting through the list
of messages really annoying, I just want to know if the message is unread,
who sent it, the date and time, and the subject. I don't mind also knowing
if the message has an attachment, but would prefer to not have that read
either given a choice. I really want to be able to browse through messages
quickly with the minimum information I need to determine if I want to read
the message now or later. To me, any extra information can be gleaned from
the message itself and just slows me down in browsing the list of
messages.

So, I guess I am in the same boat as you, I want less information read,
and you want more. I have'nt been able to find anywhere in the settings
to select or deselect the columns read, if anyone gave you the info off
list, I would appreciate getting it as well, and if nobody has responded,
maybe somebody could give that info if they have it. BTW, I am using
version 3 beta 4.

I just installed thunderbird. The headers it reads are conveying too
much info. How can I choose what to include in the headers. I also
would like to add the "read" and "unread" field to be read. I gave the
graphics labels, but they are nnot being read as part of the header.

Thx,
