Hello gang,
Man, it's been almost a whole year since my thoughtful, but
unthinking neighbors gave me a Dell computer for Christmas. I,
already having a 'puter that is in great working shape, just never
had any reason or motivation to hassle with setting the new one up,
so hope the thing will even work after sitting in my closet for the past year.
What I'm wondering about is some how installing Window-Eyes before
running the prerequisite preinstallation of the different programs
that can be loaded on the new system. Is there anyway to put WE on a
SDHC card, and some how copying the video driver to the computer, or
do I have to just use Narrator. If I have to use Narrator, what is
the key combination for getting it to run in this situation.
I know, if I waited for my dear wife to return from her Saturday
duties, I would have some sighted help, and some of this would be
moot, but I would like to just take this bull by the horns while I'm
in the mood and go for it.
I don't know just how many good uses to which I'll be able to put
this computer, other than using it for a partial backup for my music
files, as well as my Openbook library, but who knows.
I guess the biggest hassle I can see with this thing is that I don't
even know if this has a wireless card in it, so don't know if I will
even be able to access the Internet without plugging my cable hookup
into it and letting it go. But if I can't get it to talk with any
ease, I guess I'll just have to wait on the wife :). Anyway, any
helpful hints will certainly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry
