Michael, I think there might be one thing to add here but not sure. Morn,
For most of the important changes to WinEyes, You must change the experience
level to advanced. Don't worry, this setting is only to allow you to make
certain changes to settings and is not to consider the user to be a pro with
WinEyes. Just wanted to let you know this before trying to make important
changes to WinEyes and Michael is right about the laptop layout. You can try
using the laptop layout but in most cases the regular desktop layout works
better on most laptops too. Best, Craig R.

Subject: Laptop Recommendations
Hi, Morne! When you buy your laptop Window-eyes pretty likely will
install
in the usual way. I mention this because your new laptop is probably
going
to have a 64 bit version of Windows 7.
When I use my laptop I use a full size keyboard because since I had a
stroke
in December of 2007, my left hand coordination was affected. Therefore, I
feel that I do better with a full size keyboard. I do not feel confident
enough to try to use the smaller keys on the laptop, however, in reference
to those of you who do use the laptop keyboard, more power to you.
The Window-eyes manual explains how to use the laptop layout, but in my
opinion, it is not set in stone that a user has to use the laptop layout.
If you wish to use the standard desktop layout that's perfectly fine.
There
are no major settings to change other than changing the laptop keyboard to
the laptop layout.
Again, Window-eyes should work as it is now working for you. Welcome to
the
list, morne!
Since you asked if Window-eyes can use German language, hopefully I can
use
the loaded script and translate your signature to English, as I have no
clue
what your signature speaks, smile. Thank you. Enjoy Window-eyes, Morne!
