Although we couldn't duplicate this specific problem we were seeing
some performance problems in general and some other random stability
problems. We are on it and should have a fix posted soon.

I hate to add fuel to the fire because I have never used the Run
dialog to load web pages, but since it was mentioned, I tried it. I
found that when the Progress Indicator script is running the problem
persists with other web sites and whether the HTTP is included or
not. However, when the script is stopped, I don't have the issue. I
have attached a screen shot. I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3. I
consider this a minor issue in the scheme of things. I will continue
to use the Internet Explorer or firefox icons on my desktop for now.

I was wrong in our phone conversation. You don't need the http://
part as long as the URL starts with www. Unfortunately I'm not able
to duplicate the problem, but will keep trying.

I am using we 7.11 under windows xp sp3. When I stop the script
the following problem disappears. The problem happens when I go
to the run dialogue box to run ie 8. If I either type in
<http://www.gwmicro.com/sc>http://www.gwmicro.com/sc and try to
launch ie or if I type in
<http://www.gwmicro.com/sc>www.gwmicro.com/sc I get the windows
sound from hell that indicates that windows can't find the program
to open. As I previously stated, stopping the progress indicator
script makes the problem go away. The problem is gone if I
stopped the use of scripts altogether. If I close down WE and
launch System Access, there is no problem in launching ie from the
run dialogue box. The problem started with the latest update of
that script. I should note that the only other script update that
I installed today was the wordnave script.
After talking to Mike Lawler a few minutes ago, I decided to launch
ie from the run dialogue box with the insertion of
<http://www.gwmicro.com/sc>http://www.gwmicro.com/sc and was met
with the sound from hell. Before this script update, I've been
able to open web sites without putting in the
<http://www.gwmicro.com/scc>http://www.gwmicro.com/scc because Mike
indicated that windows required it though I've seen things to the
contrary. I decided to humor Mike and insert the http:// in front
of the site address. Windows said that it couldn't open the
program to open. I noticed an interesting thing. My isp is
MSN. After I get the sound that I mentioned, I notice that the
being addressbar inserted its ugly head.
As i mentioned, if I either remove or disable that script the
problem disappers. Btw, I started using ie from the run dialogue
box after my excellent WE training class in Portland about a year or so ago.
