Jed,

deep in the settings, that start with you choosing the tools menu and the
options choice, are checkboxes which tell outlook what to do when new mail
arrives. you need to uncheck the (two I believe) that have to do with
visual notification. I think one is to show you a brief preview of the
mail, and one flashes the desktop. leave only the "play a sound" one
checked.

hth,

Chip

Subject: an annoying problem with outlook

Hey guys,
I'm using the latest version of windoweyes and outlook 2003.
I have this problem often, and wondering if anyone else has.
Whenever i hear the sound that new mail has arrived, and if i'm navigating
the web, it basicly loses focus completely.
If i do alt tab, it says desktop alert.
Anywy to get rid of this?

thanks,
Jed
