You could use the exception dictionary for this.

Since this would be something you would pronounced this way all of the
time, go to the desktop, focus on some text, and press

Control-Shift-E

For the dictionaries list. The first one should be exception
dictionary, and press enter on this.

First in original type in the correct spelling and tab to replacement.

Type in an altered spelling such as eethan which should sound just
fine.

Tab and press add entry

Then tab to OK and press enter.

This altered the pronounciation.

Now, to save the dictionary,

Control-backslash to open the we control panel

Alt-f for file menu

Arrow down to save and press enter

Arrow down to set file and all dictionaries and press enter.

Hope this helps,

Jeff Weiss

Subject: WE 7.11 Pronunciation

Hi,

Running WE 7.11 on an XP Media Center SP3 and the default DECTalk 32
Window Eyes synthesizer selected, how would I train WE to pronounce my
son Ethan's name properly? It's a long E at the beginning, rather than
the short E sound WE uses.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Donald E. Bowen, Jr.
