Dear List: I have windows XP and the latest Window-Eyes. Before turning off the computer this morning, I arrowed down through the sys tray to see if anything was different, such as my antivirus mc afee doing something. Since there were some mc Afee updates going on, I waited until the systray reverted back to normal. Then I closed the computer down. As soon as I typed in U for Shut-down, the computer said "please do not shut down the computer because there are still programs still running in the background that need attention." After I let it purr along for a while, I checked and it said something about fax man debug console. My question is: What can I do to make sure nothing is going on so I can close down the computer quickly without these sidetracking distractions? Thanks. Regards: Ted Larson
