Hi Keith, Just to add to Aarons reply: there is no single language which is *the* window eyes scripting language. this is why it is as good as it is, because it can be whatever language people decide is most user friendly, most understandable, most powerful, etc.
I don't mean to say anyone has to settle on one language: most of us use VBScript because we like it best, but, you can use any language at all. some are more convenient because microsoft offers them (or perhaps someone offers them), in a form designed for use by other programs, but really you can use any language you're happy with. There is so much material available for VBScript, so many books, so many examples, it's become the default language for scripting in other programs. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: Keith Hinton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, January 23, 2010 3:57 PM To: gw-info Subject: Window-Eyes Scripting Language Creation Hi there. How did the Window-Eyes scripting language as it is now get created in the first place? I am listening to the Window-Eyes scripting training session that was done in 2008 at CSun. And right now, I'm understanding a lot more than I did. The language itself seems so open, free, open-sourced, and all taht, compared to things like JAWS, and other language-based scripting systems where things are dependent upon various things. Can anyone explain how this entire scripting thing as it is now came around? >From what I understand, more than half the scripts are done by you customers of GW Micro. That is wonderful!
