Hi John,

I've been using the VBA editor in excel and Word for years, and I never knew
about these menu choices you are refering to. the accelerator keys work
anyway, even if the menu choices don't read. I could probably find you
documentation on the accelerator/shortcut keys if you don't know what to
press?

you should really have the MS Office script that I've written for window
eyes; it makes Intellisense work in the Office VBA editors, which makes your
coding *much* easier.

Write me at work if you have further questions on coding in VBA; my work
email is:

the only configuration change I remember making which made things a lot
better, was to go into the tools menu, and the options choice, and find the
"docking" tab, and uncheck all the checkboxes which let the various windows
be docked and parked up at the top of the window. actually, this may help
if you are having menus not read properly once you do this. also, make sure
the VBA IDE window is maximized; this is really important.

hth,

Chip

Subject: excel vba

I'm using win xp pro, we 7.11 & excel 2007.

I've begun working with excel vba hoping to write a new excel function.

My question relates to the editor.

When I'm in the vba editor I can press alt to activate the menus. The menu
appears to read properly except for the optional f keys listed at the far
right of the menu selection.

For example the project explorer has a excellerator of ctrl+r.

Why can't we read this?

Do I need to make some kind of adjustment in the editor and/or we to
maximize performance?

Thanx,

John Carty
