no, nothing you can do about that as far as I know but its an interesting one.  
For example if I use System Access To Go or NVDA as my screen reading software 
I don't have this problem.

Yep, its a little annoying but not an insurmountable problem for me at least, I 
suppose that's because I've been using Total Recorder for years! and I'm used 
to the menu layout.
