Thanks for the tip. Haven't tried the script you describe. Whatever it works, I still think we end up with two main points, which GWMicro will have to look into:

1. Window-Eyes should not be relying on the user having to install any scripts, batch files, or any other third-party code, so as to shut-down. If it needs to shut down, it should do so on its own. Which other software does have third-party stuff to make it shut down. 2. GWMicro do proud themselves, of having the 'most stabile screen reader'. Be so, but if you are left to having to restart your system a couple of times a day, I don't think the stability is too much to be proud of :) Since this definately happens with the Beta1 of 7.2, something must have gone wrong, in the coding/updating of coding, in the windows core; or in some kind of scripts (GWToolKit or whatever). OK, I know, this is a Beta, and so we have to accept trouble of this kind. All I am saying, it has to be fixed, before final release, and sure it will be.

thats why i use the windows tskill for xp home or taskkill for vista and
windows 7 with a desktop icon and a shortcut key. this will shut down win
eyes most every time unless windows crashes.
the w e kill script only works if w e has not hard crashed.

I'm not getting that problem in Internet Explorer, but when I watch 2 or
more videos on Youtube I notice that Internet Explorer freezes and there
is no way to close it. Even the task manager won't work properly so I end
up restarting the entire machine which is annoying.
But I've noticed the part that Jed Barton said about Window-Eyes just
locking up and I can't use the hotkey to go into the control panel so I
can't close it manually because also the hotkey to shut it down won't
work. It happens when I first activate Miranda and the other day it did
that when I was typing a message to my brother with it. Also today it did
that when I was about to use Windoctor to scan my registry. I think it's a
bug in the Beta because when I used 7.11 it didn't do that. So I hope GW
fixes this problem in the final version of WE. Oh, I must also say that I
can't use SA when it does that. I'm using XP SP3. I'd be interested to
hear what operating system Jed is using, because if he's also using XP
then this problem should be fixed right away.
