ebooksOK, since you did not exactly specify, what you want the reader to do, I am not sure if any of these solutions will work for you. Yet, I will post them here, as they might be useful in many cases, other than EBook reading.
1. ROBOBRAILLE The Danish school for the blind (Denmark), has a free-of-charge translation service, from an electronic document, into either a speech file, or a converted 'Braille document', ready to print on your printer. You can read more about the service on the below page (in English). Basically, what it all is about, is that you send an email, holding your .pdf, .doc or .txt file, to a given Email address. Seconds later, you gedt the transcribed, or spoken audio file back on your Email server, and are good to make use of it. http://www.robobraille.org/frontpage 2. Try out the 15day - fully working - demo of Text-Aloud. TextAloud lets you implement files in either .txt, .pdf, or .doc format. You can choose between the SAPI voices on your system, and have TextAloud read the document aloud to you, or save it as an .mp3, .wav or .wma file, ready to put on your hardware player, and bring the material with you wherever. Also, when reading on the PC, TextAloud can save, and refind bookmarks in the text, adjust speed, and for certain voices pitch, split the document into several files (I.e, one file for each chapter), etc. If you want to buy the software, I do believe it is something like US$30. You find more about TextAloud, and other Nextup products, at www.Nextup.com Hope any of this is of use. Have personally had good use of TextAloud, when reading Ebooks, and specially enjoyed the feature of saving the material as .mp3 files, that I can listen to on the go, on my mp3-player. ----- Original Message ----- From: Edward To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, April 04, 2010 11:06 PM Subject: ebooks Hello all, I am trying to find an accessible ebook reader that works well with wineyes, with no success.
