That's how mine works too.  I think if you have it set to 12 hours, midnight is 
considered the zero hour, hence no chimes.  Surprised me the first time I heard 
it too.  <grin>

I've noticed that the hourly chime script doesn't play the twelve bongs at the 
midnight hour.  It does so for 12:00 noon.  

Is this how it is supposed to work, or is there a problem?
