Hello

I could see this working for MDI client's, but I'm not sure how it will work
for programs such as Notepad, Internet explorer etc. that are not MDI client
base. The question is how it would otherwise make the determination which
part of the title bar. You actually wanted to hear. an example. If you
switch tasks to the program Skype, should it only speak the number of
events, should it say Skype but leave off the word trademark should it
speak your login identification, and the number of events. How does
window-eyes know what parts of the title bar you wish to hear for each
individual application? While I agree it would cut down on verbosity. I do
not understand how the program could determine accurately, which parts of
the title should be read as I said previously, this could be accomplished.
I think with MDI client without any problems.

as for me I would rather have the information read and if I want to stop
said reading the good old control key is nice and handy dandy.

I too agree with this. The way the current verbosity options are set up is
good for new users. But for those of us who are experienced users, and
always multi-tasking and tabbing around, I think it would be nice to have an
option for us to customize what we want to hear WE speak.

In the Verbose menu of ACTIVE, It is possible to check the box for having WE
report your Window Title, whenever you land on a Window, i.e when
Alt-Tabbing. This is a nice feature, but it has a small drawback:

If you, for instance, alt-tab to your Notepad window, it will read 'My
Document.txt - notepad'. Same in Internet Explorer, and in Outlook Express,
it would read the Folder, and then tell you it is in 'Outlook Express'. It
is nice, in some cases I guess, to have the full window title spoken. But in
most cases, I only need to know ONE of the two parts of the Title. In most
cases, when I alt-tab through my open windows, I don't need to be reminded
if I am in Notepad, Internet Explorer, Word or whatever. All I do need, is
to know, exactly which document/webpage/folder I am in. In other words, it
would be enough for me to hear 'My Document.txt', 'GWMicro.com', 'Inbox',
and so forth. Specially the way it is now, you get tired of hearing all the
application names spoken, when you do an excessive amount of alt-tabbing
back and forth through a couple of hours. Say you have a Word document open,
and then do some research on the internet, making notes in Word. You Alt-Tab
to Word, get the 'Notes.doc - Word', message, do a bit of typing, Alt-Tab
back to IE, and hear 'Wikipedia.com - Internet Explorer', spoken. Do this
Alt-Tabbing back and forth 20 times the next hour, and your ears are filled
to the extend, they are about to fall off, with the 'WORD', and 'INTERNET
EXPLORER' phrases. In general, it is to be prefered, that you get the least
amount of words spoken, that is needed to have you do your job the most
effectively. Well, at least for oldtime-runners, this will be the case.

So, could there please, be an extra checkbox in the Verbose menu, that would
tell WE whether or not to include the App-name in the Window title? It sure
would have made my ears happy, and I guess many with me.
