Hello,

My Java WE experience is:
1. WE does not use the Java Access Bridge (JAB).
2. There is no Braille display support for Java.
3. There is no Java support for 64-bit Java applications.

This is a stab in the dark but would running as administrator clear up the
problem rather than running a standard account?

Subject: IBM Lotus Symphony Not Working

Hi Everyone,
I recently posted concerning Open Office and Window-Eyes and I was
advised to install access bridge. However, this did not correct my
Open Office problems, so I gave up on it. Recently, I heard about IBM
Lotus Symphony which implements IAccessible2--the same API the WE4Java
script uses. I installed JRE 1.6, then latest version of WE4Java, and
then Lotus Symphony. I am able to navigate the menus and read the
dialogs just fine; however, the edit box for me to type stuff does not
read. Curious, I loaded the Notepad Demo and found the same problem
there. Although the Notepad Demo did cause W E to produce the WE4Java
start up sound, when I arrowed around the edit box I got no feedback.
I then loaded NVDA and it read the edit box in Symphony correctly, so
whatever it is seems to be a W E issue. Does anyone know what is
causing this? I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit under a standard user
account.

The JRE installed to c:\program files (x86)\java\jre6; likewise, the
setup installed to c:\program files (x86)\WE4Java. After the setup
completed, I got an error saying that some process could not be
started because it needs elevation. I thought this to be the Java
Utility in the WE4Java start menu grouping so I ran it separately. It
detected my JRE properly and installed to it. When I checked
accessibility.properties in the JRE it does have the W E command in it
(I don't remember what it is right now.) Any help would be greatly
appreciated. This is the second Java program I've installed which
claims to have some or other API that W E supports but I have had no
luck with it.
