I am one who tried David's advice. I wrote the original complaint about
sluggishness. When I uninstalled "Smile" script, My sluggishness
problem went away, immediately. I'm using Window eyes 7.2 beta and
Double talk synthesizer. Thanks David and I hope the Smile script can
be fixed.

Recently, there has been a few users, who has reported a certain
sluggishness, when paging up/down in different applications.
There has been done a certain amount of investigation on the matter,
and it seems, that the SMILE script, is causing a slowdown, in moving
around in webpages and documents. The SMILE script interferes with the
speech synthesizer, and particularly now that Eloquence has been
faster, definately seem to slow down the moving process.
It is the hope, that the script author will investigate, and possibly
release an update, that will take care of this challenge. Meanwhile,
if any of you are experiencing sluggishness when paging, or arrowing,
around in your documents; please try to temporarily deactivate the
SMILE script, if installed, and see if the problem gets solved.
If any of you have further feedback, that might give the author a clue
what in particular slows down the process, I am sure it will be
appriciated.
