One solution to this problem is to use the mobile version of these
sites. YouTube, for example, can be accessed via http://m.youtube.com,
and it does not have this autocomplete abomination.

A workaround in case you don't want to have a Google cookie stored on
your machine, (Net Bat), is before you press enter on an edit box, press
insert-a to turn auto load off. Now press enter on the edit box, and
type away. Even though the edit box will populate with choices which you
can down arrow on, Browse mode won't automagically kick in. When you are
done typing, press the submit button like normal. Since auto load is
off, you will have to manually turn on Browse mode with control-shift-a.
Remember to insert-a again to reactivate auto load.
Although this seems tedious, it's actually neat. I do this when
searching for movies on Netflix.

I've restarted WE, and the browser to no avail.
