actually what it does is it adds an add on to the ribbon so it doesn't actually make the ribbon in to the classic style the ribbon is still there this is an add on that allows you to use a classic style interface to find and access things. it is called classic menu for office. hth

Isn't there a program to make the ribbon into a classic menu stile? It's
not by Microsoft but another company.

yes it is. when you can't change some thing and it is here to stay you have two options. get used to it or cry about the fact it has changed. getting used to it will allow you to get back to doing the task at hand and going on with your life. crying about it will make your eyes red and when your done you will still find the task needs to be done and you will still have to get
used to the new method.
I have already before stated ways of dealing with this so if you want to get a more classic interface you can. but it is still the ribbon and it is here
to stay. so yes the advice to get used to it is the only advice at this
point that is helpful. because Microsoft is not going to take the ribbon
out. crying about it is not going to make it go away so getting used to it means as I said before you can get the job done and go on with life. now if
you have any other ideas I would love to here them. not because I have a
problem with the ribbon but because the more I know the more power I have.
after all knowledge is power.

Wow, get used to it he says. That is a truly profoundly helpful
response. ;)

And don't forget just when people are concerned about learning how
to use Office 2007 Microsoft are planning to release Office 2010
next month and Window-Eyes works well with Office 2010.

And, we, as creen reader users, have not been the only ones

Recently I read of some who decided they didn't want to have to
deal with a new learning curve for not much real performance
change. Microsoft didn't take the opportunity to fix table styles,
which have been broken for over a decade. They didn't fix the
master documet feature either. I understand many have moved over to
Open Office. Since that's not a good option for us and as much as I
hate to say we have to suck it up and take what's there, in this
case at least, I don't see another good solution, at least not for
those of us who have to use complex formatting features in Word.
So, I've decided it's time to take the plunge.

Recently when I made the switch to Windows 7 I had some good help
from several of you here, including CathyAnne. So, for those of us
who haven't already made the switch, I guess I wish us all good
luck.
