I tried to pick up on the posts that suggested one not actually switch to a laptop keyboard layout, but rather, just use the function key, in combination with the "U, I, and O" keys as the equivalent of "4, 5, and 6" on the numeric key pad. I even read where the key describer would help identify the functions of this alternative numeric key pad. Unfortunately, on my ThinkPad T-60, pressing the function key (bottom left of the keyboard) in combination with the above-listed keys produces absolutely nothing. Nothing happens whether in the key describer or not. Is it possible that, on the ThinkPad, this little trick doesn't work?
