Hi Craig,
That's not entirely true. In order for Nextup to be allowed to legally
sell you the voices, you have to have one of their own products first.
This is a licensing restriction imposed on them by Nuance. Once you have
the voices you are interested in, you can use them from any
SAPI-compatible program like Window-Eyes. Check the licensing
requirements from each voice provider on Nextup's site, and you will see
that there are different installation and usage terms for each one. The
AT&T voices can be downloaded on their own while the standard version of
the Acapela voices won't function in anything but Nextup's products
unless you fork over $200 to run them in SAPI mode. Hope this helps
clear things up a bit.
Regards,
Steve

Thank you very much, Stephen. I know about RealSpeak. Trouble is
they say on their Web site, "These voices are sold only as part of
TextAloud, so you must already have TextAloud or another of our Aloud
products or must purchase TextAloud at this time for the
voices to work" (http://www.nextup.com/nuance.html). From that
statement, I concluded that the voices aren't exportable, so to speak.

You can purchase and download them from www.nextup.com. Note that the
price is pretty steep which is probably why GW Micro stopped
including them with Window-Eyes after version 4.5.

Greetings to the list.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get RealSpeak Nuance voices
working with Window-Eyes? Quite some time ago, GW Micro offered
Jennifer with one of its Window-Eyes releases, but this option
appears not to be available anymore.
Thank you for all help.
Craig
