I will be getting a new laptop Friday (not my choice of laptops).
Nevertheless, I'll be needing to create set files for certain software
that I don't have now. I would like to keep certain hotkeys consistent
among all the applications. For example, I like to use control-8,
control-9, and control-0 for highlight tracking, color bar
identification, and so on.
Is the simplest, and most convenient way to do this to create a set file
from a known set file with these settings already created and then load
that set file with the new application and save it (while linking and
naming it consistent with the new application)? Is there a better way?
Also, one of the new applications is a Web-based program. I know in
regular client applications one can associate a specific set file down
to a specific window within an application, but I'm less certain about a
Web application that runs through Internet explorer.
Would you suggest I identify a unique string in the specific Web
application and create a hyper-active window to trigger a "load set"
when it appears on the screen? Is there another or better way?
