Voice Sense Price ReductionWow, I just listened to the demo of the voicesense. This sounds like such a useful and fun product!
I wish the demo had focussed more on the actual unit and not featured the extras as much. It may be a little shocking to someone to learn voicesense plus the 2 extras featured, total up beyond $5000. *smile* I'd be curious to listen to the voicesense surf the web. Is it similar to surfing with your mobile phone? How does it handle facebook, google maps, or amazon? Could I purchase a mp3 from AmazonMP3 and download it to my voicesense? I guess I'm getting a little side tracked, but it certainly was interesting. Great sound effects! It's probably much cheaper in the long run to just get a laptop and pay for your preferred screen reader (Window-Eyes being the seemingly obvious choice since GW Micro offers payment plans), or get a Mac with Voiceover. The Voice Sense is definitely intriguing to be, no denying it, but the price, even reduced as it has been, does make me cringe just a little since I suppose it's far less feasible to offer payment plans for a hardware product than it would be for a piece of software like Window-Eyes. I believe the Voice Sense should have been at this price all along! But then, with so many developments out there, I would say there are more price effective options unless of course each of you insists on writing in grade two braille and wish to avoid touch screens. I could say more but I do like GW Micro as a company and would like to remain in some good stead with them so to speak! Before I can or will say more, I have more homework to do! I of course like my Voice Sense for the most part except for my not being able to connect to the internet with present internet provider which is a cable company. I'm waiting to see whether new upgrade may change anything here! Take care! It's still a pretty penny LOL. Of course I could never decide whether or not it would be worth getting a Voice Sense since I already use a Laptop. It's intrigued me for years nevertheless.
