Hello, if your BookSense it completely dead, it will need an AC adapter to get it going again. Although it charges via USB, the USB port doesn't give it the necessary, jumpstart, if you will, it needs to get going. We do not sell stand-alone chargers. So your best bet is to purchase an AC charger from us. The cost I believe is $39.
