Hi Otis:
There are three credit card processing software that I know of. The first
is Hypercom's SmartPayments Savannah Server. Read more about it by
visiting:
www.hypercom.com
The second software is ICVerify. I believe that its website address is:
www.icverify.com
The third is PcCharge. You can read more about it at:
www.verifone.com
PcCharge is WIDELY SUPPORTED by most point-of-sale software.
Unless you will be in a RETAIL ENVIRONMENT where quick processing of
credit/debit cards may become an issue, you will probably be better off
using a virtual terminal. This will let you submit credit/debit card
transactions via the Internet, but your discount rates will be slightly
higher than with swiped cards. Also, you most certainly need card readers
and PinPads.
Some POINT OF SALE software have BUILT-IN credit/debit card processing
engines; however, you become tied to a stake and their fees can be
astronomically high. A good example of such software is Peachtree Complete
Accounting and KeystrokePOS.
Contact me privately as I am afraid I am a bit OVER THE TOP here especially
since most readers of this thread MAY NOT necessarily be in business for
themselves. Much thanks!!
Sincerely,
Olusegun
