Pele, I am using the thirty-two bit version of Vista, so I don't know that it is a Windows 7 issue.

Subject: Loss of Speech with Window-Eyes

Hi Chip

Below is a message I meant to send to the list but replied to the sender instead.

I think the loss of speech problem is a Windows 7 issue, rather than Window-eyes. Your issue with Narrator makes my case stronger, although you say you
are using Vista.

Hi Everyone

I am running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium with Window-Eyes 7.2. I use a Brailliant 64 Braille display and Dec Access 32 speech through
an external sound card.

I find that when Window-Eyes stops speaking I have to reboot. I believe this is a Windows 7 and sound card problem as I cannot play any sounds once Window-Eyes goes silent. I am using two soundcards, the onboard soundcard for everything except Window-Eyes, which comes through an external
sound card.

Also, sometimes the speech stutters and the only solution is to reboot. Closing and relaunching does not solve the problem.

Sometimes the braille display keeps working and the speech is silent.

My husband also has Window-Eyes and has the same problems.

Still, it works most of the time.
