I wanted to also add a tip or two of usefulness here.
The steps are correct for permanently applying changes acrossed all folders.
I will say that I have not had an issue with personally navigating
inside Windows Explorer.
Just a minor note.
While this is not screenreader specific, please make sure that you
have applied all Windows Updates for both 32-bit and 64-bit virsions
of Windows Seven.
There was a security update released for all versions of Windows
currently supported by Microsoft, that corrects a severe issue with
how the shell parses files ending in the dot lnk extention.
Make sure you have applied all current updates.
I would also recommend that if Windows Seven is what you are moving
to, you will not find icons like "Computer" and others on your desktop
as you might have been used to seeing.
To get that back, you have to do something to put them there..I forget
what it is.
Let me take a look.
Okay, got it.
Enter control pannel, and search for the personalization option.
Then, look for "Change desktop icons."
Enter on this.
Then you'll find a check box that says, computer.
You'll find similar ones if you arrow down for network, Recycle bin,
and others. This is one way to make your desktop look like the clasic
desktop in XP.
Another thing to do to also restore the clasic look and feel to
Windows Seven is to enable the clasic theme under Personalization.
After doing this, the desktop will not appear in the alt-tab order and
get in the way.
Then, the last thing to do is to obtain a program called clasic shell.
I have a copy of an old RC release that works well with Window-Eyes.
Aaron Smith has tested the latest most updated version and it
currently does not work as far as the publically available 7.2 release
of Window-Eyes, but I am hoping that this has been fixed.
If you would like a download link to clasic shell, you may get it from
my Dropbox account.
This is a rar file, so you will need WinRar installed to extract the
setup program and run it.
After you have obtained WinRar, click on the below link.

If you have any questions about the instructions I have provided,
please feel free to add me to Skype, if you wish.
I use this program an awful lot, and can easily assist Window-Eyes
users with one-on-one support over SKype with voice conversations.
You just need a microphone and speakers to use this program.
Add skypedude1234 to your Skype list.
That is one of the easiest ways to reach me when I am not checking email.
Email works too, but is not always the fastest.
Thought I'd pass this tip out there for all.
If you folks would like anymore assistance in configuring Windows
Seven with Window-Eyes or any questions on the use of the clasic Shell
program, let me know.
A modified ini file that controls some extra functions of the clasic
shell program will make it behave much more like the menus did from
prior versions of Windows.
I have the ini file avaialble as well.
I'd right click this file though, and choose save target, as clicking
it may cause it to open in Notepad.
Take this file and paste it to the folder where Clasic Shell is
installed. If you need assistance with this task for any new computer
users just getting started with Window-Eyes, I am offering my support
in this through Skype voice chats and such.
The best part of this is that all support is free! The only time I
would actually consider charging anyone is if the problem required
more of my time to remote in and fix issues that way. :)
But that type of support is available as well should you need anymore
techincal assistance.
If you would just rather that I remote in and assist you with a task,
then let me know, and we can discuss it off-list.\
The link for the ini file is:

Thanks folks!
Have a great rest of the evening, afternoon, or morning!
