I'm a pretty basic iTunes user as well, however I do use the store. Did you
happen to venture into the store? *smile*
To touch on the conversation above, I occasionally find iTunes to be a pain.
With that said, the more iProducts I purchase, the more I need to use it and
get use to it.
I now choose over amazon much of the time. For one reason, how do I buy an
album on amazon without needing to check each song? The buy this album
button on iTunes is so much easier.

I installed iTunes 10 on my 64-bits Windows 7 machine and so far so
good. I think it's fine. I did not try out Ping or most iTunes features
since I mainly use iTunes for app and contacts syncing to my iPhone
though.
