Hello, I'm going to be using versions 2003 and 2007. I know what a spreadsheet does, but even though I was taught some basic stuff on spreadsheets, I wasn't really effective. I'd like to be able to do budget sheets and calculations. I'm not attending any classes on Excel. Finally, I would like to apologize to all who sent me information for saying what I said in my second email. I am under a lot of pressure at the moment with university preparations. Again, I apologize for what I said.

There's been a few changes in the Office suite, and unless you let the community know, it might be a bit of a challenge to give you good suggestions. Second, Are you familiar with spreadsheets at all? If so, migrating into Excel should be not too much of a hazzle. WE works pretty well with excel, and simply searching the menus, will take you quite far. The help file for Excel, included in the Office suite, might also be helpful. On the other hand, in the case you never have been in touch with spreadsheets, you are not neccessarily looking for a manual for using it with WE, rather a general good EBook on Excel. There is available a few out there. Searching for things like how to use Excel, on the net, adding on the word EBook, might take you to several webpages. There might even be some downloadables. According to your message, I got the idea, you are going to some kind of a class? If so, have you checked if your study place have any material on Excel in an electronic format. See, the thing is, that using Excel with WE, doesn't really differ that much from operating it with a mouse and two eyes. Inserting a formula, for instance, is done the same way for you, as for a sighted. Both of you will have to know the same term, and representation so as to get the formula do what you want. True, the sighted user will click on the menu items, whilst you will have to use the menus, the normal way, or get used to the ribbon in the newer versions of Office. In other words, getting hold of a guide or workbook, in an elecronic format, will prove perfectly helpful. Look in the WE controlpanel, under help, go to the WE manual, and you will find a section on Excel. There you will find the hotkeys that WE has, for optimizing WE for use with Excel. Lastly, the fact that more than one will hrefer you to something in another country, doesn't mean that they DID NOT bother reading your messages. Sometimes messages criss-cross each others. Sending a message to the list, letting people know 'I TOLD YOU...' Well, sorry sir, it's not encouraging people to help out. If ten people refers you to something useless for you, simply take it that this is the best they could offer; and you actually got ten helpful people. Your first meassage stated you are in the UK, and from thereon, hope for an answer that will help you. Or, even better, let the community know more exactly your knowledge level, and uncertainties, on the matter. Have you, for instance, had your hands on Excel at all? If so, where is your first problem? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Samuel Wilkins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 11, 2010 7:47 PM Subject: RE: Using Excel with Window-Eyes > Hello, I'm afraid that won't work with me as I live in the UK, not the US. > > -----Original Message----- > From: M and L Dorn [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: 11 September 2010 18:33 > To: Samuel Wilkins > Subject: Re: Using Excel with Window-Eyes > > The Hadley School for the Blind has a free correspondence course for Excel > with screen readers.
