On this page, several elements don't show up correctly. First of all, you do
see the text for these, but WE doesn't recognize them as 'clickable'. Moving
your mouse on the text, then pressing the 'Left-Click-button', does perform the
requested task. But how do you imagine the user to figure that one? (smile!)
yet another one of these websites, that call for the browse mode to be updated
pretty soon.
First of all, the comboboxes for choosing language, ain't showing up as
anything but plain text. Second, after having made the translation, there is
buttons to click on, which actually will read the text aloud, by use of some
kind of synthetic speech. These buttons show up as the plain text word
"LISTEN". WE doesn't recognize them as buttons at all, or any other type of
element, for that matter. Simply just reads them as plain text. Rather
confusing?
Placing the cursor on the word, Listen, and then using Insert-NumpadPlus to
bring the mouse there, then NumpadSlash to left-click, and Yepsy, there you
hear the spoken text. But that took a while to figure, sorry to say. Wonder how
many sighted users would have been OK with a net browser, where they had to
'try and click' on each word, that might happen to perform some kind of action.
Lastly, Yes, I do know of the Translate Language script, and am using it to
perform certain translations. Yet, it doesn't give the full features of the
website. Not even sure, if it is using this particular website, or some similar
one. The thing here is, that I do see more and more pages holding clickable
elements, that WE doesn't recognize as such. EBay's Leave Feedback site, has
been mentioned long time ago - since you cannot choose between the different
ratings. And, on my banks website, I have the chance of scrolling through the
list of saved recipients, so as to choose where to send my money. This actually
is a combobox, yet WE tells it to be an Editbox. Interesting! Reliable?
