Do not compress your drive.
Unless you have a very small hd, or a computer from 1998 'grin', but
if you are running anything like approachin a modern machine this
will slow you down a lot, and the trade-off isn't worth it.
Hard-drives are cheap now, if you need more space, spring for a huge
terrabyte or more drive for under a hundred bucks and hog space to
your heart's content.
