Hi,
I am trying to reinstall WMP 11 on my netbook, after having uninstalled it to
try and install WMP 10. I liked the format better. Anyways, it said, when I
tried to install WMP 10 that it was the wrong version for the operating system
(XP home, sp3).
I then went to Windows Update, and downloaded the update, and then
attempted to install it. It takes forever, and then ultimately fails. I get
the following info/error code:
Error Code: 0x8007F205
I found a website that has descriptions of error codes that someone running xp
might run into. This is what the error code said:
Error code description:
0x8007f205
STR_UPDATE_ALREADY_RUNNING
Setup has detected that another update is in progress. Please complete that
installation
or removal and try again.
So, I'm lost. I'm stuck running WMP 9, and everytime I try to go to windows
update, it tells me that WMP 11 has been downloaded, and is awaiting
installation. Is there any way to clear the downloaded files and then try
again to download the files needed to install WMP 11?
