Not surprised. We talk to consumers all the times about phishing scams.

It's not just AOL. I am a Roadrunner customer, and saw that message this
morning.

And whatever you do, don't reply to the emails or click on any of the links
theymay give you. You don't want viruses or spyware and if you reply to it,
then they know they have a vallid email address.

Hi Listers sending to all related lists there is someone out there using AOL
addresses sending out a message that says second notice your federal tax
payment has been rejected. I have gotten over 70 or 80 or more of the bounce
back messages and as I type this I hear clicks saying more have come in. This
is the second time in recent months this crap has happened. The way the
program goes out is the sender adds a name to the send too field to get around
the automatic lokcout by AOL When AOL detects electronicly generated messages
trying to send out many at once the AOL system trips a security measure that
scrambles all user names on an account and all passwords. This sender is
getting around that by adding a proper name first and last something like John
Dough _ [email protected] and when these messages bounce I get them. It
is obvious Phishing so if you are an AOL user, you might reset your password
and security question. Thanks, Ken.
