I'd have to disagree a bit here.  The Victor also plays all those formats and 
the only paid upgrade was an optional upgrade called the Softpack which isn't 
at all necessary.  It just allows you to play enhanced Audible format which 
I've found isn't much different from the format 4 audio especially considering 
it's just someone talking for the most part anyway.
Not sure about the latest version of the Booksense but I thought the Victor 
sounds better also.
But having said all that and while I don't agree the Booksense is the best 
thing going I'd agree it is a great book player and you wouldn't go wrong 
buying it for sure.
