You won't care for this solution, but I have found over the several years
that I have had my MJ, that the easiest way to deal with it is to have it
installed on a separate computer of its own.
Failing that, I unplugged my unit many, many times.

Subject: Kill Magic Jack?

Dear List:
I have Windows XP using Internet Explorer.
I recently started using Magic Jack to make telephone calls over the
internet.
I cannot close it; it merely seems to get minimized. As a result, if I try
to go to the Internet, Window-Eyes will just start to sputter out one word
of the web page and not read anything else. So, I have to unplug Magic Jack
whenever I need to get to the Internet. What potential options are
available for me? Unplugging the device repeatedly will sooner or later
cause a loose connection. Are there switches I can install at the
connection so I can just throw a switch? Or, could a script be written
similar to "kill Window-Eyes?" Or, is there something else I can do to
access the Internet while Magic Jack is hooked up? Thanks for any ideas.
