Maybe then it's being on the desktop which makes the difference when using
the Window-Eyes shortcut key.

In any case, my pc only has a windows key on the left side, so I end up
using windows+m almost all the time, and someone corrected me for not
mentioning windows+d one time.

This may seem like quibbling, but Windows-D does not minimize all apps and
place you on the desktop. It merely focuses the desktop from the last app
you were using. A second press of this Windows hot key will focus you back
to the app you were using so it acts like a toggle. When Windows-D is
pressed, nothing is minimized.
