If this is coming from a publisher, it is most likely not simply a
scanned image, and should be readable with WE and Adobe reader. I am
concerned about the reference to its being locked. I wonder how you
unlock it.

Subject: w-e and pdf files

    Hi List,
I have a question about a pdf file that I want to purchase for work. I
don't want to spend $50 and find it unusuable.

The Book of Style for Medical Transcription, 3rd edition, is
available in locked .pdf format for visually impaired MTs. I can
purchase the book now in .pdf format on CD. Some screen readers

require conversion of this .pdf file to text format in order to display
its contents.

Is Window-Eyes one of these or will a .pdf work as is. They do not say
if this pdf file was scanned as text or not. There is free conversion
softwar that I can download. This program will enable conversion of the
.pdf file to a .txt file. if this conversion software can convert the
pdf, is this function already contained in W-E?

Thanks for any input.
Brenda

Thanks
Brenda
