Hi Mike, sorry for the delay in answering this.
this is a little tricky, and I only know exactly how to do it in 2003; I've got 2010 at work, and I could look it up after the holidays if you need me to; the basic idea will be the same though, only the exact key commands will be different. you basically put a dec tab definition for each cell by selecting the entire column using the table menu (in there is a submenu for select, and in there is a choice for selecting the current column). your dec-tab spacing will be relative to the left edge of the cell, and will be where the decimals will be positioned. So you select the column, choose the format menu, and choose tabs. in the tabs dialog, you create a dec-tab, choose "set", and then choose "ok". (since you know what a dec-tab is, I'm assuming you understand you enter a value for the tab spacing, and find the radio button for the type of tab and set it to dec-tab). you then enter a tab in front of each number in it's cell by using control tab (so it doesn't interpret the tab as a command to move out of the cell). window eyes will unfortunately not read these cells and tell you about the dec-tab, but will tell you how much the number in this particular cell is indented so it's decimal ends up at the desired offset from the edge. I think this isn't clear, so I may modify my Word script so it announces when a dec-tab is present. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 8:14 AM To: [email protected] Subject: setting decemal tabs in a table with Window-eyes Hello fellow Window-eyes users, For any of you who have ever had to do it, is there an accessible way to set decemal tabs within a table using Window-eyes? By decemal tab, I'm basically looking for an accessible method I can use to lign up numbers within a table using Window-eyes. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike Rochester, NY.
